Water is essential and highly regulated. SMG knows the ins and outs of water permitting – from National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) wastewater discharge to storm water discharge permits. We work with municipalities and state regulators on pretreatment issues and development of local limits. We manage the resource, design innovative stormwater management systems and mitigate your operation’s effect on the environment – while helping you operate profitably and within permit requirements.

SMG is well versed in Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPP) Plan requirements. We frequently develop these plans and have certified inspectors and licensed professional engineers to assist in maintaining compliance with these plans and Spill, Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans, as required by the federal SPCC Rule.

We work with our clients inside the local wastewater treatment districts to analyze and evaluate their wastewater to comply with pretreatment requirements.

We routinely work with large and small facilities to permit or amend their NPDES and local pretreatment permits.
